That's right, it's My Plainfield, Your Plainfield... Our Plainfield, New Jersey. Do we not deserve a town of integrity, prosperity, standards of living, quality of service, honest, pure and responsible government?
We will leave no stone unturned to find out what the "average Joe/Joanne" has to say about how to fix many of our broken initiatives and fractured perspectives.
For every public official that has gone astray, there must be 100 citizens that step forward to collectively eradicate unscrupulous behaviors and cover-ups! Our city services, some complain, are a joke--and a BAD one.
Some say, for example, that police work is not aggressive ( I use that term with caution) or motivated enough to stop the recent escalation of serious crimes (home invasions, etc.).
Then there were the Inspections Division scandals involving folks that NEVER should have been entrusted to monitor the tying of their own shoes, much less the quality of our neighborhoods. Some were very subjective about the manner in which they chose to whom they would deliver violations charges. I even once had one idiotic inspector issue a complaint with MY name on it for a home they had learned I was RENTING rather than taking the time to look up the true owner's name! Not only do I consider this lazy, but stupid, as well.
I guess I should actually say THANKS, since in lieu of a few months' rent the landlord asked me to paint the home, myself!!! :-)
Dare we even mention the condition of streets with terrible potholes and so many missing street signs???
Are we up to par in the school system with so many new and often inexperienced teacher? How about administrators hired without really proving themselves in terms of outstanding educational. Plainfield schools, after all seem to be in an educational and structural CRISIS that warrants so much more than a shot in the dark with a pea shooter. With such a dangerous enemy as our thousands demons to come to grips with and outbattle, Plainfield children deserve unselfish and competent soldiers for meticulously constructed change!
Plainfield, there's so very much work to be done. Much of our leadership seems misguided in any ways. I am at a loss to understand why our civic and religious leaders don't seem be taking on a more unified & concerted effort to save our children, save our neighborhoods, and save OUR Plainfield. I will continue to offer this blog for your indulgence and your contribution of thoughts and ideas, because, after all...this is MY Plainfield, NJ too.
